Distil Stack (“we”, “us”) is a software development and technology solutions company. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through this website and in the course of our business.
What we collect
We collect only what we need to respond to you and run our business:
- Details you send through our contact form: name, email, company, budget range and message
- Information you share during projects or recruitment, such as CVs and correspondence
- Basic technical data such as browser type and pages visited, collected through privacy-friendly analytics where enabled
AI readiness assessment
When you request an assessment report, we store your name, email, company, answers, scores and timeline privately. We use them to generate your report and arrange one personal follow-up by a solutions architect. Resend processes the report email and PDF attachment. We do not add you to a newsletter or automated marketing sequence. An abandoned quiz is not stored.
Assessment records are retained for up to 90 days in the active review database. Older records are removed during report processing and server maintenance. You can ask us to access or delete your assessment information at hello@distilstack.com. Personalized results are not publicly indexed; browser progress is not saved.
How we use it
We use your information to reply to enquiries, prepare proposals, deliver contracted work, assess job applications and improve this website. We don't sell personal information, and we don't use it for unrelated marketing without your consent.
Legal basis
Where data protection law such as the UK or EU GDPR applies, we rely on your consent, our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries, and the performance of contracts.
Sharing and processors
We share information only with service providers that help us operate, such as hosting, email and CRM tools, under agreements that require them to protect it. We may disclose information where the law requires it.
Retention
Enquiries are kept for up to 24 months unless they become a client relationship. Recruitment data is kept for up to 12 months unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, or object to how we use it. Email us and we'll respond within one month.
