RAG chatbot development services

A chatbot that answers from your documents. Not from its imagination.

Custom engineering

Answers grounded in your documents.

Most chatbots guess. A RAG chatbot looks things up first, in your docs, your policies, your knowledge base, then answers with the source attached. We build them for support teams, operations desks, and employee self-service. And we ship them to production instead of leaving them as demos.

How the parts of the system connect

01The work

What "RAG" actually means

RAG stands for retrieval-augmented generation. When someone asks a question, the system searches your documents for the relevant passages, hands them to the language model, and the model answers from those passages. Two things follow from that. The answer stays current because your documents stay current. And every answer can point at the passage it came from, so nobody has to take the chatbot's word for it.

02The work

What we build

01

The knowledge pipeline.

We connect the documents you actually use: PDFs, wikis, help centers, SharePoint, ticket histories. We clean them, split them into passages, and index them so the right passage surfaces for the right question. Messy docs are fine. Most companies' docs are messy.

02

Retrieval that earns trust.

We test retrieval the way we test software, with a set of real questions and graded answers. If the system can't find a good passage, it says so instead of guessing. That one behavior is most of the difference between a chatbot people use and one they abandon.

03

Answers with citations.

Every answer links back to the source passage. Your team can check an answer in one click. So can your customers.

04

Guardrails.

Topic boundaries, PII handling, tone rules. The chatbot answers what it's allowed to answer and hands off the rest. Nothing cleverer than that, and nothing less.

05

Human handoff.

When a question is sensitive, angry, or just too strange for the bot, it routes to a person with the full conversation attached. No dead ends.

06

Your customers' language.

We've shipped Arabic-language AI products, so if your users ask questions in Arabic, Urdu, or anything else, the chatbot keeps up.

03The work

Your data stays yours

Your documents stay in your cloud. We don't train models on your data. And your access rules carry over: if someone can't see a document today, the chatbot won't show it to them either.

04The work

How we deliver it

Same four stages as everything we ship: Discover, Validate, Build, Scale. Validation takes two to four weeks. That's a working pilot on a slice of your real documents, not a slide deck. Production takes eight to twelve weeks, depending on how many systems it plugs into. You see it working on your own content before you commit to the full build.

05The work

RAG or fine-tuning?

Start with retrieval. Fine-tuning teaches a model a style or a narrow skill. It doesn't reliably teach it your facts, and it goes stale the moment your documents change. We fine-tune when the job calls for it. Most chatbots don't need it.

06The work

What it costs

Pilot: $5,000 – $10,000. Production: $12,000 – $30,000. We price it in two stages: a fixed-scope pilot on one document set, then a production build priced on integrations and scale. We'd rather show actual numbers than hide behind "it depends."

Frequently asked questions

View pricing guide
How much does a RAG chatbot cost?

$5,000 – $10,000 for a pilot on one document set; $12,000 – $30,000 for production. A pilot on one document set costs far less than a production system with integrations, monitoring, and guardrails. The pricing guide breaks down what moves the number.

How long does it take?

Two to four weeks for a working pilot on your real documents. Eight to twelve weeks to production, depending on integrations and approval workflows.

Can it answer from our documents securely?

Yes. Documents stay in your cloud, we never train models on your data, and existing access rules carry over to the chatbot.

What happens when it doesn't know the answer?

It says so. Then it offers the closest related topic or hands the conversation to a person. We measure how often this happens during evaluation, and we tune it before launch. A chatbot that admits ignorance beats one that invents answers.

Should we use RAG or fine-tuning?

Retrieval first, almost always. Fine-tuning helps when you need a specific style or behavior baked in. We'll tell you during validation if your case is one of the exceptions.

What languages does it support?

Whatever your documents are written in. We've shipped Arabic-language AI products, and multilingual setups are standard.

Can it connect to our helpdesk or CRM?

Yes, and it usually should. A chatbot that can pull ticket history or log a summary back into your CRM is worth multiples of one that just chats. Connecting systems is most of what we do.

Who owns the chatbot and the code?

You do. Full source code, pipeline configuration, and documentation, handed over with a handover pack. No license lock-in, no hostage situations.
