HealthTech

HealthTech software development

Patient apps, clinical workflows and health data platforms built with HIPAA, GDPR and interoperability in mind from the first sprint.

01HealthTech

Healthcare software clinicians and patients can rely on

Healthcare software is used by people with different responsibilities and different access to the same information. A patient booking a visit, a clinician reviewing a record and an administrator correcting a referral need connected workflows without receiving identical permissions. We define those boundaries with the clinical and operational stakeholders before designing the application. The product must fit the service it supports, including the work that happens between appointments.

An EHR connection, a patient portal and an assistive AI feature also have different acceptance criteria. A successful API response does not prove that the correct patient's information reached the correct place. A fluent generated note does not prove clinical accuracy. We separate technical checks from clinical review, agree who makes each decision and design an escalation route for cases the software should not resolve on its own.

02Challenges

What makes HealthTech software hard

  • 01

    Compliance overhead

HIPAA, GDPR and local health rules shape every design decision.

  • 02

    Interoperability

Patient data spread across EHRs, labs and devices that speak different standards.

  • 03

    Clinician time

Documentation takes hours that should go to patients.

  • 04

    Patient engagement

Appointments missed and care plans abandoned between visits.

03What we build

HealthTech solutions we deliver

  • 01

    Patient apps and portals

Booking, records, reminders and secure messaging.

  • 02

    Telehealth platforms

    Video visits, e-prescriptions and follow-ups.

  • 03

    Clinical workflow tools

Scheduling, triage and care coordination for clinic teams.

  • 04

    EHR integrations

HL7 and FHIR connections to the systems clinicians already use.

  • 05

    Clinical documentation AI

Draft notes and summaries that clinicians review before saving.

  • 06

    Remote monitoring

Device data collected, analysed and flagged for review.

04Considerations

Built in from the first sprint

The requirements we plan for on every project in this sector.

  • HIPAA and GDPR controls
  • HL7 FHIR interoperability
  • Audit logging and access control
  • Clinical safety review for AI features

05Delivery decisions

Integrations in practice

  • 01

    EHR and clinical records

We inspect the available HL7 or FHIR interface, identity matching, access permissions and supported workflows before estimating an integration. The plan specifies the records exchanged and how corrections or rejected updates are handled. Patient identity and record ownership are explicit requirements, not details left to the last interface test. The target system's actual capabilities determine what can be connected.

  • 02

    Appointments, communications and patient access

Booking, reminders and secure messages should reflect the same appointment state. We map changes, cancellations and delivery failures, including who handles a message that cannot be delivered. A patient portal must expose the right information to the right person, with account recovery and delegated access considered where they are part of the approved operating model.

  • 03

    Documents, devices and assistive AI

Device readings and generated documentation need provenance: where the information came from, when it was collected and whether a person has reviewed it. We design AI outputs as drafts or assistance within the agreed clinical workflow. Evaluation, logging and a clear human review step are scoped before release. We do not turn a model output into an unreviewed clinical decision.

How we verify the work

Tests follow real patient and clinician journeys, including an incorrect identifier, a missing record, a revoked permission and an interrupted session. We review the required logging, recovery and access controls with your stakeholders. A BAA, when applicable to the engagement, is part of the contractual setup; a software feature list alone does not establish an organization's compliance.

For AI-assisted workflows, clinical stakeholders define the examples and errors that matter. The release plan records which outputs require review and how users report a problem. Handover includes integration behaviour, operational alerts and the procedures needed to investigate an incorrect or missing update. The system remains something your organization can inspect and operate rather than an opaque assistant beside the clinical record.

Frequently asked questions

Will you sign a BAA?

Yes, for projects that handle protected health information.

Can AI features be used safely in clinical settings?

We design them as assistive tools with clinician review, logging and evaluation against clinical test sets.

How do you scope a healthcare integration?

We start with the actual interface documentation, permitted data and clinical workflow. Identity matching, supported record types, rejected updates and ownership of corrections all affect the scope. We validate a representative end-to-end flow before treating a list of standards as proof that two systems will work together.

Can you take over an existing patient application?

Yes. We review the code, dependencies, data access and release process, then define a safe first change. Existing patient access and clinical workflows guide the migration or repair plan. Replacement is considered against incremental improvement, with testing and rollback requirements made explicit before cutover.

How are privacy and security requirements handled?

We map data, roles, processing boundaries and the controls required for the engagement with your team. Permissions, logging, retention and recovery are part of the engineering scope. Applicable legal obligations and clinical governance remain subject to your organization's specialist review; we do not promise certification through software alone.

What affects healthcare software cost and timeline?

The clinical workflow, EHR access, patient identity, review requirements, data migration and release approvals drive the estimate. We define a first usable scope and validate the difficult connection early. The pricing guide explains relevant product and integration ranges; a written proposal confirms the actual engagement.
